250 Antique silver toast rack, music, treble clef, 6 minims, unusually with tails, all on a staff.

Price £ 1800

Now this is a first ! I have never seen this design in over 40 years of dealing. On offer is an antique silver toast rack hallmarked for Birmingham 1898 ; the makers marks I cannot identify . The hallmarks are to be found on top of the staff. The handle is a treble clef, the six rack divisions are formed as minims with , unusually, tails . Artistic licence kicking in ! The whole sits on a base grid formed as a staff, resting on four ball shaped feet. The length is just over 4.5 inches, the width is just about 2.5 inches, and the height to the tip of the treble clef is 4.5 inches. The silver weight is 140 grams , 4.4 troy ounces.
Surely the ideal breakfast present for that special musical person in your life ! Not only decorative, but useful every day , a continuous reminder to them of just how much you appreciate that special person in your life. I'll drink a TOAST to that !
